First Aid at Work (FAW) Re-Qualification (HSE approved)

Aims & Objectives

This course updates the first aid skills for people who need to renew their statutory first aid at work certificates and whose existing certificate is still valid.  The course aims to update and refresh your knowledge of the First Aid at Work syllabus, while allowing time for revision and practice sessions in preparation for a final assessment.

When first-aiders attend the releveant course within three months prior to certificate expiry, the new certificate will take effect from that date of expiry. Retraining can be undertaken earlier than this three month period, in which case the new certificate will take effect from the date the course is completed. When retraining has not been undertaken before certificate expiry, it should be completed no more than 28 days beyond the expiry date. The new certificate will be dated from the expiry date of the previous certificate. If training is not completed by the end of this 28 day period, the individual will need to undertake a full FAW course or EFAW course, as appropriate, to be re-established as a first-aider.

A copy of a valid First Aid at Work Certificate for each attendee is required prior to the training.
